The Reds are set to travel to the King Power Stadium on Tuesday evening, where they will face the struggling Foxes. Gary Rowett's side currently sit 22nd in the Championship, one point adrift of West Brom and safety, having been hit with a six-point deduction last month.
City find themselves 12 places and 15 points better off than their midweek opponents, but come into their trip to the East Midlands in the midst of their own difficult period. The Robins have tasted defeat in each of their last three matches to both exit the FA Cup and slip seven points away from the play-off places.
Gerhard Struber's side's most recent loss came at the hands of Championship leaders Coventry City on Saturday afternoon. While the Reds were beaten 2-0 by the Sky Blues, to the frustration of Tanner and his teammates, there were encouraging signs in their display, which perhaps only added to the deflated feeling.
"We're very disappointed," Tanner told the City media team after the full-time whistle. "I thought there was so much good in the performance; however, we conceded two very soft goals, which is really disappointing.
"In the first half, there were so many good chances," the defender continued. "I think we created so much; however, we just can't put the chance away. That's something we definitely need to look at, because we need to be scoring goals.

"Definitely today, there were so many opportunities to score, and we don't put it to bed. It's something we need to look at and improve on.
"There were so many chances in the first half, we just need to put some of them away, and it's a totally different ball game if we score," he added. "It's something we're struggling with at the minute, but we've got to stick together.
"Obviously, we're in a tough spot, but we've got to keep pushing. There's a game around the corner, and we've got to stick together."
In the eyes of most supporters, the Robins' "tough spot" has spanned much of 2026 so far. Since the turn of the year, the Reds have won just four of the 12 Championship games they have played, claiming 14 points from the 36 up for grabs.

While such a run of form has made for frustrating viewing for the City faithful, Leicester fans have had it harder. The Foxes' last win in any competition came against League Two's Cheltenham Town in the third round of the FA Cup back in January, and since then, the former Premier League champions have gone 11 matches without a victory.
There have been more positive signs under the management of Rowett in recent weeks, however. Leicester drew with promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon, their third draw in their last four games, and are therefore unlikely to roll over at the feet of Tanner and his City teammates.
Asked if he had a message for supporters ahead of Tuesday night's clash, the defender replied, "They've got to stick with us. There was so much good today, and we can turn the results around quite quickly; this is the Championship.
"There was a lot of good today, and they've got to stick with us [and] stick with the lads."
