QPR suffered a third consecutive defeat – and third straight loss at home – as Middlesbrough cruised to a 4-0 victory at Loftus Road. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player.
Produced a couple of saves but his inability to command his area was evident throughout, including for the opening goal, as unfortunate as Rangers were to concede it.
Rangers’ standout player during a second-half spell in which they managed to put Boro under some pressure. Mbengue’s marauding runs down the right and willingness to get the ball into the box helped raise the tempo after the break.
At fault for the second goal, when his poor header was punished. Generally well below his best.
Gave the ball away early on and that set the tone for a poor display. Boro’s attack was simply too strong for Edwards, who was found wanting.
Given the runaround by Morgan Whittaker on the flank.
A dire misplaced pass in the second half summed up Hayden’s performance. He struggled in midfield, where Boro dominated, although he did have a couple of efforts on goal – a header that was saved and a blocked shot.
Had some good moments early on, winning challenges and covering plenty of ground. But his display deteriorated as Rangers became overwhelmed.
Simply having an extra man in the middle probably helped prevent an even heavier QPR thrashing, but Morgan offered very little.
Had some decent moments and tried hard to create something. Shot well over in the second half after cutting in from the right. Struggled at times, though, and gave the ball away in a promising position after good work by Mbengue.
A passenger on the left, where he made no impact whatsoever going forward and offered very little in terms of defensive cover.
Starved of service, Kone worked hard up front and created a shooting chance for Hayden with a clever lay-off – a rare moment of Rangers quality.
Added fresh legs after his introduction but made no real impact.
